Big News!
I am so excited to announce that This Lovely City has officially become Dandelion & Grey

I originally started This Lovely City as a fun way to document different cities around the country that I would be potentially interested in moving to someday. Pretty different from what the blog became, right?!

The good thing about a blog is that it is ever-evolving, however that name just didn't seem fitting anymore. Over the past few months I have developed a love for weddings and design that isn't going away!

The blog will remain very much the same, as I believe that inspiration comes from so many places. The next step will be designing a website to compliment the blog which will offer styling & design packages for events, photoshoots, weddings & more.

I am now available to work with you on your event! I will be providing different levels of services, please email me for more details!

I'll be explaining more of what event styling & design is, and more about what I do in a post next week.

....................................................................................

I look forward to each of you being by my side as Dandelion & Grey grows into what I hope will be an inspiring blog & creative business.

You'll be able to find your way here via the old URL or the new one http://dandelionandgreyblog.com

Isn't this bedroom  the loveliest?

This dress is on my must have list for Spring!

Darling little cupcake stands would be cute at a small, intimate wedding!

I'm loving the open field and soft lighting of this capture by Tec Petaja

I've been eyeing these Ice Milk Aprons for quite some time. This one is my favorite!

Inspiration to Wedding! Part 3

A few Details
........

I love the idea of family photos pinned to a simple piece of twine in a reception area. At our wedding almost every guest walked along the row of photos during cocktail hour... ohh-ing and ahh-ing over childhood shots, making fun of our awkward years, and remembering good memories.

I was inspired by this..

+
and this..

And created this line of photos strung along one of our venue's old barns.

Isn't my grandmother sweet?!

Inspired by the idea of creating charming escort cards..

We purchased a giant piece of wood from Home Depot, painted it with chalkboard paint and created 8 sections. Since we had one long table instead of many smaller tables, this seemed to work well.

Once they located their section, they found their name tied with twine to a printed menu & a packet of Wildflower seeds. The seeds were purchased from American Meadows

Hope your week is off to a great start!

I like you because when I am feeling sad, you don't always cheer me up right away

Sometimes it is better to be sad.

You can't stand the others being so googly and gaggly every single minute.

You want to think about things.

It takes time.
I like you because if I am mad at you, then you are mad at me too.

It's awful when the other person isn't. phooey.

They are so nice and hoo-hoo you could just about punch them in the nose.

I like you because if I think I am going to throw up, then you are really sorry.

You don't just pretend you are busy looking at the birdies and all that.

You say, "maybe it was something you ate."

You say, "same thing happened to me one time."

And the same thing did.
If you find two four-leaf clovers, you give me one.

If I find four, I give you two.

If we only find three, we keep on looking.

Sometimes we have good luck and sometimes we don't.
If I break my arm and if you break your arm too, then it is fun to have a broken arm.

I tell you about mine; you tell me about yours.

We are both sorry.

We write our names and draw pictures.

We show everybody and they wish they had a broken arm too.

Happy Birthday, Greg! XO

Inspiration to Wedding! Part 2

The Bridesmaids

I knew I loved the look a mismatched bridesmaids dresses right away. Of course it's not for everyone or every wedding, but I wanted this bit of eclectic-ness + for my favorite ladies' personalities to shine through. Bonus- they absolutely adored me for it!

Two.Things.

Thank You, Thank You to the lovely Monika at
for posting about my tablescape ... and including my work in such an inspiring post full of talented designers! Check it out here.

And here is a fun little DIY that is simple as can be!

I just adore the look of old book pages, so I decided to string them in my window creating a sweet + pretty garland!

The steps are obviously very easy, just make sure to use the pointy end of a scissor or a sharp pencil to poke the hole in the book page. If the hole is too big, the pages will slide to the middle, instead of staying nicely in place.
